With Halloween just around the corner, the girls at HQhair are all busy planning their outfits – we love any excuse to dress up! Best Halloween Makeup Ideas

Whether you’re looking for an easy Halloween costume or you wanna be extra AF, we’ve stalked our favourite influencers’ insta accounts to find the best Halloween makeup looks for you to try yourself this year.

1. Halloween Skeleton Makeup

If you’re not ready to go all-out scary, this sexy skeleton is perfect for you. Just throw in some heavy contouring that even Kim K would be proud of and you’re half way there. To create this Halloween skeleton makeup look at home, start by priming your skin with the Illamasqua Hydra Veil Primer and then apply a light or white coloured foundation. For a truly white pigmented foundation, we recommend the Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation in 01 to really add some drama to this look.

Sculpt those cheekbones and add some definition to your forehead and nose with the Maybelline Master Smoky Eye Pencil and blend to create a smoky contour effect. To define your eyes, begin by priming your lids with the Pixi Lid Last Shadow Pen in Gold.

Next, add a sweep of the Laura Geller Inkcredible Waterproof Gel Eyeliner and finish with the dramatic Eylure Enchanted After Dark False Eyelashes and the Illamasqua Brow Gel to make sure your eyebrow game is as strong as your contour.

2. Super-Cute Scarecrow

At the end of the Halloween party, you’ll definitely be clicking your heels in the taxi queue thinking that there’s no place like home. For this look, simply blend a little colour onto your cheeks and nose using the Pur Cameo Stick, and highlight using the Lord & Berry Silhouette lip liner.

Add in a few patchwork details with an array of eyeliner colours, such as the range of Pixi Endless silky eye pens and add the finishing touches to this look using the Ardell 105 lashes twin pack, adding a set of lashes on your top and bottom lash lines to add some real drama to your look.

3. The Joker

We love this stunning make up look- it’s sure to make you stand out from the crowd. Start by creating a glowing base (we LOVE Mary Lou Manizer) , then spook it up a little with super-precise black lips using Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel eyeliner.

Create a smouldering, black smoky eye using the Illamasqua Vanitas Rose gold eye shadow palette, graphic eyeliner & Eylure Enchanted eyelashes – The Raven. Taking the emerald shade from the New CID cosmetics I-Gel trio, create triangles below your eye and above your eyebrow to add a clown-like touch.

4. Creepy Clown

I honestly dont think i have been stared at so much in my whole life? It was so hilarious just seeing people's reactions

This look is scarily simple to recreate. Start by applying the Illamasqua skin-base foundation in 01, followed by not-so-precise red lipstick- we recommend ‘Box’ from Illamasqua. Finish off the look with crazy black eyeliner smudged around the eyes- the Lord & Berry couture Kohl eye pencil is perfect for blending to create a smouldering look.

5. Vampy Vixen

Not prepared to go all-out Halloween? Then this make up look is perfect for you! Do your make up as you would for any night out, add a red or deep-berry lipstick- We love Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in ‘Anita’, then blend drips of blood coming from the corners of your mouth and you’ll look good enough to eat!

6. Stitched Up!

If you like to get a little creative with your Halloween make up, this is perfect for you. Draw the outline of your gruesome gash with an eyeliner pen- we recommend using the L’oreal Paris Super Liner. Fill inside the lines with TheBALM’s How ‘Bout Them Apples Lip And Cheek Palette for a realistic blood effect.

Create the stitches using the L’oreal Eyeliner and contour and highlight the area to give the impression of bruising- the PUR Love Your Selfie Palette is perfect for this.

7. Chilling Clown

This one is for the more ambitious make up enthusiast. Create the skin folds using the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen & the Lord & Berry Luminizer Highlighter & Concealer Stick. Throw in some face paints and some statement lashes like the Paperself Clown Regular and you’re ready for some clowning around.

8. Two-Faced

#HappyHalloween everyone! What's everyone going as? ??? #Halloween #Makeup #makeupartist #mua #naanaaclothing

This simple but effective look is perfect for those who like a strong contour. Start by doing your make up as you would usually, but leave the bottom half of your face. Take the  L’oreal Paris Super Liner to map out the skull shape and then fill it in with the Illamasqua Skinbase Foundation in 01. Fill in the fiddly details using the L’oreal liner and blend out using the black shade from the Illamasqua Vanitas Palette and you’re ready to roll!

9. All Eyes On You

The dazzling make up can be achieved with the Japonesque Pixelated Eyeshadow Palette and the Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Eye Shadow in Mediterranean.

For the ombre lips, take a lip brush- the Real Techniques Retractable Brush is our personal fave, then mix a little eyeshadow with the Illamasqua Sealing Gel to create a paste and, voila!

10. Give Me Some Space!

u’ll look outta’ this world with this galactic make up look.  All you need is the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Black Blue, the Real Techniques 2 Pack Complexion Sponge and the Perricone ‘No Highlighter’ Highlighter and some sick blending skills.

11. Cirque Du Spooky

Add a dash of purple eyeshadow like Forgiveness & Fist from the Illamasqua Vanitas Palette. Then take the L’oreal Paris Super Liner to draw in the details- including the lips, and finish off with a pair of falsies- the Eylure Cameo would go great with this look!

12. Halloween Barbie

Come on Barbie let’s go (Halloween) party…

To achieve this look, take ‘Savvy’ blush from Pur and apply where you would usually apply your bronzer- the hollow of your cheeks, forehead and jaw. Add a set of lashes underneath your eyes- Eylure Dark Forest lashes will add just enough drama! Finish the look by lining your lips with black eyeliner and fill in your lips with a shocking pink shade, like Panther by MDMflow.

13. Feline Scary.

We couldn’t make a list of Halloween make up looks without including the trusty cat make up! The Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner will be your BFF for this look. Begin by doing your make up as usual, a shimmery eye shadow like Obsessive Compulsie Cosmetics’ ‘Overlook’ really pulls this look together. Use your gel eyeliner to create the ‘whiskers’ on your top lip, the tip of your nose and some really dramatic feline flicks on your eyes and you’ll look puuuur-fect all night long (sorry!).

I’ve always loved makeup and being able to work with it every day only makes me love playing around with products even more! Tan is my absolute fave product, you’ll never see me without a tan. Being a beauty buyer means I try out a lot of new products, from makeup and tan to hair and skincare... my skincare routine has more products than I’d like to admit! My go-to cocktail... a Pornstar Martini.
