A Day at LFW AW17

If you’re following us over on our Insta (and if you’re not – you totally should), you’ll have seen that on Friday our Instagram story was packed with boomerangs of stunning models, photographs of the dreamiest hairstyles and videos of the coolest fashion shows. This was because our Social Media Executive, Beth, was lucky enough to get invited along to the LFW Teatum Jones and Mark Fast AW17 shows by our baes at Lord & Berry and Catwalk by TIGI. Wanna know what she got up to? Check out her blog post below…

4am:

It’s an early start, but I am so excited. This time last year I was in my final year at university, most likely preparing an essay in the library, whereas now I’m getting ready for London Fashion Week… Someone pinch me! To keep myself energised throughout the day, I make myself a drink with Fountain’s Energy Molecule, grab my camera and then head off to the station to catch my train down to London.

5am:

So, I’m on the train and ready to go. To keep myself occupied throughout the journey, I pull out my latest read: #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso. This book is guaranteed make sure that I’m channelling my inner #GIRLBOSS and feeling like I’m ready to kill it at LFW!

7am:

I made it, I’m in London! But first things first, I head straight to the nearest Starbucks for a skinny caramel latte. Sipping on my coffee, I check my emails and plan my schedule for my day ahead. I quickly spritz my face with First Aid Beauty’s Vital Greens Face Mist + Setting Spray to make sure that my makeup stays in place all day before heading off to my first show.

8am:

I’m backstage of the Teatum Jones show, so I head straight over to say hi to the mega babes from Lord & Berry. Whilst they’re preparing the models for the runway, I spend the morning filling HQhair’s Instagram story with photos and videos to make sure that our followers feel like they’re here with me! (If you want a closer look at the hair and beauty trends from the Teatum Jones show, then head over to our blog post: Backstage With Lord & Berry at LFW Teatum Jones AW17).

12pm:

Once the show is over, I head for lunch and have a quick break from the craziness of being backstage at LFW! After a few hair and makeup touch ups, I head straight over to the Mark Fast show, sponsored by Catwalk by TIGI.

3pm:

The first thing that I notice backstage is a collage of inspiration photos for the hair stylists to follow. The chosen style includes a sleeked back, low ponytail partnered with a funky, backcombed fringe. One thing is for certain, this look will require a lot of staying power, so dressing tables are covered with cans of TIGI Catwalk Firm Hold Hairspray to make sure that every strand of hair stays perfectly in place!

5.30pm:

So. I’m sat in the audience at Freemasons’ Hall watching the show! How exciting!? The collection itself is stunning, including a mixture of romantic silhouettes in the form of dresses, jumpsuits and two pieces. My personal favourite is this feathered trouser jumpsuit… Now this would be perfect for a night out with the gals!

7pm:

The show is now over and I’m sat on the train home flicking through the photos on my camera, crushin’ over the looks that I was lucky enough to photograph first-hand! Is it too soon to start planning for LFW SS18!?

Have you been to any LFW shows? What would be your dream show to attend? Let us know over on Twitter & Instagram!
