If you’re anything like me your eyes looking good is a key ingredient to looking good on a night out, I like mine standing out looking big and very bold. So I am going to take you through 6 easy steps to get a perfect smokey eye look!

1-Get your eyes ready!                                                                                                                      First you should apply a light shade of concealer to the under eye area and all over your top lid. Your mineral foundation is a great concealer for this step and it makes sure your eyes are prepared for the eye shadow.

2-Use your eyeliner                                                                                                                  Secondly line both the top and bottom rims with an eye pencil, you need to pay close attention to going into the lash line itself. If you have small eyes apply the liner starting from the middle of the under eye to the outside of the eye, if your eyes are big you can go from corner to corner. (It is always better to use a pencil liner as it’s not as messy as a liquid liner)

3- Adding the shadow                                                                                                                       With a small eye shadow brush of a q-tip, soften the edges of the eye pencil, then apply a dark shadow using a sponger tip applicator, smudge brush or a q-tip dir3ectly over the pencilled area and smudge. (The shadow helps to set and soften the look)

4-The final touch                                                                                                                                   Next apply a lighter shadow in a neutral tone with a larger eye shadow brush encircling the entire eye area. Be sure to soften and graduate outwards for the perfect blended look. Don’t forget to add mascaras!

5- Don’t forget to clean up!                                                                                                          Brush away any shadow that has fallen below the eye with a fluffy brush and clean any are that have smeared with a q-tip.

6- More dramatic look                                                                                                                              If you want it more dramatic go over it again using the same method with a darker eye shadow and apply more mascara!

Good luck,

Alex xx

I'm often referred to as 'the nail girl' because I love nail art - I have over 200 bottles of nail polish at home! But I love all things beauty; especially anything neon bright or packed with glitter. Growing up, I was a bit of a nerdy kid, so playing with colourful makeup or wacky hairstyles became my creative outlet - so it's great that this has become my job! You'll spot me at the bar, probably wearing sequins, drinking a Singapore Sling.
