But did you know it’s actually pretty easy to re-create your own flawless makeup looks with the right technique? Discover our ultimate beauty hacks below for a long-lasting, perfect look every single time.

Our Top Beauty Hacks

Natural Face Lift

Dotting concealer under your eyes may seem like the best way to hide dark circles from a late night, but it’s not. Instead, apply it in a triangle shape pointing downwards towards your cheek and blend in. The shape not only conceals the darker shades; it also creates the illusion of lifted cheeks.

Perfect Wings

Winged eyeliner is a classic look which every gal can rock. But if your wings end up messy and uneven (liner can smell fear!), then it’s easy to give up. However, by using a few strips of tape, you can bypass the hundreds of failed attempts and go straight to flawless lines with ease. Angle a strip from the outer corner of your eye towards the end of your brow, glide some liner along the edge and you’re ready to go!

Brighter Shadows

There’s nothing worse than investing in a new eyeshadow palette full of bold, bright shades, to get little to no payoff when it goes onto your lids. To help keep the colours true once applied, start with a white base on your eyelid. By neutralising the colour, it helps to brighten up anything which is applied on top, so you can boast poppin’ shades on your eyes no matter what.

Longer-Lasting Lippy

If you’re heading out with a bold lip, you don’t want to worry about it wearing off in the middle, leaving you with an odd outline before you re-apply. Prevent this from happening by improving the longevity of your favourite lipsticks with a touch of powder! After applying, place a 1 ply tissue onto your lips, dust on some translucent powder with a fluffy brush and peel away the tissue. You should be able to carry on for a few more hours before needing to re-apply.

Bolder Pencil Liner

A kohl pencil is a staple in every gal’s makeup bag. Yet sometimes they can get a little dry, making them difficult to use with a sheer colour payoff. Create a gel-like formula by holding it above a lighter for 1 second, letting it cool for 15 seconds then using it. It will draw thicker, more pigmented lines which smudge more easily, perfect for a smokey eye.

Flawless Cupid’s Bow

Your lipstick application can make or break a look, so it’s important to get a neat, clean line. Help your lips to appear fuller by drawing an ‘X’ in the middle of your top lip with a lip liner in the same shade as your lipstick to perfectly line your cupid’s bow. Apply your lipstick as normal and sport your expert pout!

Lash Volume

For longer, more voluminous lashes, dust a small amount of pressed powder onto your eyelashes between coats. Not only will it leave them looking great, your lashes will feel less heavy, whilst your mascara will clump less. You can also apply a few extra coats of mascara for a bolder, fluffier look.

Stronger Curl

Save money from buying a heated eyelash curler, by heating up your own. Take a standard eyelash curler and your hairdryer, blow dry it for a few seconds and use it as normal. The heat causes your lashes to curl better, whilst also lasting longer. Tip: try this before applying false eyelashes to create a stronger base for them to sit with and a more natural blend.

Swap Eyeliner

When tight-lining your eyes, switch your trusty black pencil for a white eyeliner pencil instead. The lighter shade will leave your eyes looking larger, brighter and more awake. This is especially useful when going for a heavy eye makeup look to prevent the illusion of sunken eyes.

Thicker Hair

Okay, so this one isn’t necessarily going to create flawless makeup, but it’s a trick we just couldn’t leave out! For thicker looking hair both IRL and in pics, dust a small amount of matte eyeshadow in the same shade as your hair into your hairline. This trick also works great for thickening your parting or for your hairline when tying your tresses back.
