NARS Cosmetics Luminous Powder Foundation

I love this foundation powder, it is effortless to put on and gives a natural look. The finish look on this foundation powder is indeed 'luminous' and has a lovely matte finish. I apply this powder with a kabuki brush which i find gives the best result as it gives it an even look on your face. The look of this foundation powder is light but it is built-able for full coverage. This product is best for during the day when you need a touch up or if your skin gets a bit shiny. I wear this powder over the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer which is a perfect match. In general all Nars products have good colour matches with your skin and other Nars face products, so it is easier to find a concealer or foundation that matches this powder. I find that if you have oily skin then this product may work, but it could be best to find a drier powder that is made for oily skin. This product last a long time as you do not need much of it. It also comes with a sponge under the powder which you just lift up, this is great because it is useful for travelling. There is a wide range of colours which is good. Overall i find this product amazing for everyday use and will continue to use it! :)

If you're looking for a high-end powder foundation that also looks high-end, this one delivers. I love powder foundations in general for the effortlessly natural finish and love trying out new things, and I was really happy with this one. The All Day Luminous powder foundation will give you a lovely soft matte finish that is indeed luminous! You will get the best results applying with a damp sponge like the Real Techniques one, but the flat sponge provided in the compact will do just fine for touch-ups. It's also got a more velvety side for a more natural-looking result. Coverage is light and can be built up a degree, or applied sheer with a brush. Generally if you have a lot to cover up, you will want to use a concealer first. As we all know, few foundations are truly "all day" workhorses, and sadly this one doesn't make it. On my dauntlessly oily skin, the "luminous" finish is ruined by oil breakthrough in a matter of 1-2 hours, which is typical for me no matter what I wear, primers included. I have worn this both on its on and over primer, usually the latter though. Clinique Superprimer in yellow is okay but I did get better wear of this foundation with Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. With a thick silicone primer I also experienced that the foundation was more prone to pooling up in enlargened pores, which I also suspect the foundations jojoba esters are helping along. So for oily skin people, you would probably want something drier. On less oily skin types, though, you would be happy about the luminous, non-flat finish and be able to enjoy it for a lot longer before you need to touch up. all in all, a big thumbs up from me, with the usual reservations for oilier skin types. :)
