How To Fill In Eyebrows

Remember the phrase ‘eyebrows are meant to be sisters, not twins’? Well, without the right tools and know-how, your brows can end up looking more like 3rd cousins, which is not a good look. When your eyebrows are on fleek, your entire look screams ‘you got this!’ so it’s super important to get your technique up to scratch! Get your brow game on point with our guide to fill in eyebrows!

Step 1: Make Your Brow Guide

For perfect brows, you need to make sure they start, arch and end in all the right places. To do this, start with clean, dry brows and use a straight brush handle to make sure your brow shape suits your face. Start by placing the brush along the side of your nose vertically to determine where your brows should start. For the arch, line up the brush from the outer corner of your nose with your pupil. Finally, figure out where your eyebrows should end by lining up the brush from your nose to the outer corner of your eye.

If you’re lucky enough that everything starts and ends in the right places then it makes things a little bit easier for you, but if your eyebrows don’t quite line up, don’t worry! Take the Slanted Arch Definer from the Real Techniques Brow Brush Set and add a light spot of brow powder to the correct points. Use the tweezers to pluck out any unwanted strays and you’re back on track!

Step 2: Goodbye Sparse Eyebrows!

Now you know exactly how your brows should be shaped, it’s time to fill them in. Take the Slanted Brow Spoolie and brush your eyebrows upwards to reveal the sparse areas needing some TLC. Using an eyebrow pencil, draw light, short strokes to mimic natural hairs in the areas lacking definition. We love the Billion Dollar Brows On Point Micro Pencil as its smudge proof, water proof and it has an ultra-fine tip for a natural finish!

Step 3: Define n’ Line

You obviously want your brows to look amazing and brow powder will give you that extra definition you crave! Using an angled brush and theBalm Brow Pow Eyebrow Powder, lightly outline the top and bottom edges of your eyebrows. Following the direction of the hair growth, gently apply powder through the rest to fill in any gaps. Brush through your brows with the spoolie brush once again to put blend the colour and soften any harsh lines.

Step 4: Brows For Days

After defining your brows to perfection, you want them to last as long as possible, right? Comb through your eyebrows with the Illamasqua Brow Build to hold the hairs in place and set any added pigment. Sweep a little bit of your favourite highlighter below the brow bone to open up your eyes and add dimension and you’re ready to go!
