Space Age Christmas Makeup Inspiration

Everybody is taking about the Man On The Moon, and it’s got us feeling all spacey! We’re loving the intergalactic styles we’ve seen this season, and we’re getting inspiration for some Space Age Christmas Makeup here at HQhair! From bold flashes of hot metallics to soft pastels with glitter, we’re all over the supernatural (but still totally hot) alien look this Christmas! Think Katy Perry in her E.T video…

Bold Futuristic Metallics

If there’s ever a time for metallics and glitter, it has to be Christmas Makeup, right? We’ve been Pinterest mad recently, and have been gathering some serious Pinspiration for our Christmas party looks.

For super shimmering eyes, we’re loving the new NARS Cosmetics Stud Single Eyeshadow from the Steven Klein collection. This light-reflecting, luminous powder is highly pigmented and full of celestial shine, perfect for a bold metallic statement this Christmas! For some high impact intergalactic lines, we’re using the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Bronzebeam, and the New CID Cosmetics I-Colour Longwear Cream Eyeshadow applied with a Real Techniques Silicone Liner Brush.

Metallic lips might seam harder to pull off, but here at HQhair we believe that with the right attitude you can pull anything off! If a strong metallic lip isn’t on the cards for you, try something a little more subtle such as the NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Floralies, or Lord & Berry Matte Lipstick Pencil in Allure. For added shine, we’re head over heels, (or space boots) for the Lipstick Queen Big Bang Illusion Gloss!

Take your look that extra galaxy further using Redken’s Metal Fix 08 Metallic Liquid Pomade to add some serious shine to your hair. This looks amazing applied to braids and tight, high-tied pony tails! Add a final touch with a layer of Scott Barnes’ Body Bling for a extra-terrestrial glow!

Soft Celestial Pastels

We aren’t sure which look is more daring, but if you’re more of a magpie for the pastel shades, this Soft Celestial Pastel’s Christmas Makeup is perfect for you! Whether you go all out and dye your brows purple, or just take inspiration from the colours, our collection of pastel makeup inspiration is sure to give you some ‘out of this world’ ideas…

For pretty pastel lips, we’re using the NARS Cosmetics Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Paimpol, a beautiful pale pink shade. Hue’s of blue and purple are making a statement too, and the Bellapierre Cosmetics Shimmer 9Stack in Serenity has some stunning shades, with icy shimmer to add extra sparkle. We’re using Pixi’s Fairy Dust Eyeshadow in Snow Sparkle for added highlight on the inner corners of the eye and even to dust along the cheekbones as a highlighter!

I’ve always loved anything artistic and creative, and experimenting with makeup is no exception! Bold and bright lip colours are my vice. When I’m not trying out new make-up products, you can usually find me scrolling through Instagram, laughing at the latest snapchat filter, or catching up with friends over a few cocktails. Long Island Iced Tea is my staple.
