Valentine’s Date Night Looks

Valentines Day is just around the corner, and the girls at HQ headquarters are talking about their favourite date night looks. Whether you want to impress with a killer red lip or prefer to tone it down and go with some softer nude tones, we’ve gathered all the inspo you need along with the products we’re recreating the looks with!

Soft & Pretty Makeup

Okay, we admit it, ever since reading Estee Lalonde’s ‘Bloom’, we’re totally obsessed with her. Regardless, this soft and natural look is a classic, so pretty, and perfect for day dates!

How to recreate this super cute look

Estee’s skin is looking pretty glowing here, so first things first, we gotta moisturise and prime the skin. Illamasqua’s Radiance Veil Primer is infused with fine shimmer particles and blends effortlessly onto the skin to reflect light. It’s also packed full of conditioning vitamin C to maintain your moisture levels and achieve a natural looking glow. For a little coverage, we’re adding EX1 Cosmetics’ Invisiwear Liquid Foundation and using the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to expertly buff into the skin.

Estee has kept her eyes light for this look, so we’re getting our hands on theBalm’s Hot Mama Shadow and Blush. This is a multi-use product, and leaves you with a beautiful subtle shimmering coral colour. Sweep over your eyelids, blend underneath your lower lashline for subtle definition and finish with a coat of the Korres Volcanic Minerals Mascara in 02 Brown.

Define your brows but keep them looking natural like Estee’s with Rimmel’s Brow This Way Eyebrow Gel. The lightweight formula allows you to build colour and definition depending on how bold you want to go, so a couple of strokes of this will give you more defined but still natural looking brows!

Give your skin the all important glow with one of our all time favourites, theBalm’s Mary Lou Manizer. This highlighter is seriously illuminating, with a honey-hued glow diffusing light to give your skin a softer and more radiant glow. Sweep this across the top of your cheekbones, down the centre of your nose, and the centre of your forehead for a natural glow!

Finally, give your lips that perfect pink colour with Rimmel’s The Only One Lipstick in shade ‘You’re All Mine’, and you’re good to go!

Can we just take a minute to appreciate Charlotte’s wings. Like, seriously. Sharp enough to kill. You go girl. Anyway, this look is perfect for a day to evening date, it’s subtle enough for the daytime and strong enough for an evening by candlelight… if that’s your thing.

How to recreate this super cool look

Start with your flawless base. Illamasqua’s Skin Base Foundation has a lightweight and creamy formula that effortlessly blends and delivers a long-wearing and natural looking finish, without over-drying your skin. Next, conceal any pesky blemishes or trouble areas with theBalm’s TimeBalm Concealer.

Step 2? Those eyes! Start with the grungy smokey eye first. High Definition’s Eyeshadow Palette in ‘Vamp’ has the perfect combination of matte and satin textured deep berry shades so that you can create a super cool grungy smokey eye! Create those killer wings with FACE Stockholm’s Precision Eyeliner. This jet black liquid liner allows you to have complete control while you create the sharpest of wings! Add some more definition to your eyes by coating your lashes with Lord & Berry’s Alchimia High Performance Mascara.

Time for the final touches. Add a pop of nude colour to your lips with Illamasqua’s new Anti Matter Lipstick in shade Cosmic. Dab the lipstick into your lips using your fingertips for the natural finish Charlotte created, then add a little bit of extra glow using the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in shade ‘Peach Glow’ to the top of your cheekbones.

We’ve died and gone to lipstick heaven. Actually, make that make-up heaven. Lulu’s signature winged liner paired with this amazing berry coloured lip has got us all kinds of in love!

How to recreate this super bold look

Create the perfect base using High Definition’s Fluid Foundation. This super creamy foundation contains oil absorbing properties which help to reduce shine, and the buildable formula will allow you to get full coverage for a flawless base. Apply starting at the centre of your face using the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

Sculpt out your face with the Rimmel Kate Sculpting Palette, using the darker shade to contour your cheek bones, the blush on your cheeks, and the highlighter across the top of your cheekbones, down the centre of your nose, and on the inner corners of your eyes.

Get some serious wings using theBalm’s Schwing Liquid Eyeliner. The thin, tapered felt-tip applicator makes getting that perfect line super easy. Bat your lashes using FACE Stockholm’s Lash Booster Mascara, which extends the appearance of lashes whilst deeply nourishing! Finally, get Lulu’s bold lips with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics’ Lip Tar in shade Strumpet! This liquid lipstick effortlessly glides onto the lips to create bold and long lasting colour. It’s also enriched with Vitamin E and Help Oil to hydrate!
