How To Go From Lecture To Night Out

So you’ve just finished your Friday lectures, and everyone is heading out tonight. You’ve got to get back to your room, shower, get ready and have some pre-drinks all in under an hour… great. Well, the HQhair team are here to show you how to go from lecture to night out seamlessly, so that you can look 10/10 in no time!

Step 1 – Prep Your Face

The first step is to remove all the make-up you’ve had on throughout the day. Our favourites for quick and easy make-up removal have to be the Magnifibres Double Effect Eye Make Up Remover and Lord & Berry’s Fluid Delicate Micellar Water & Make-Up Remover. Use the Magnifibres on your eyes first by shaking up the bottle, dabbing onto a cotton pad and swiping over the eyes. Next, grab a clean cotton pad and dab a little of the Lord & Berry Micellar Water on to remove the rest of your make-up.

Once you’re looking fresh and clean, it’s time to prime your face so that your foundation will apply smoothly and your make-up will be looking flawless all night long. We recommend Rimmel’s Instaflawless Primer. Perfect for prepping and perfecting your skin, this skin tint works to even out your complexion and give you an effortless glow.

Step 2 – Beautiful Base

Now that you’re perfectly prepped, we suggest Rimmel’s Wake Me Up Foundation for a light but moisturising texture, perfect for reawakening the skin after a long day of lectures and leaving you with a healthy, radiant glow. Conceal any imperfections and brighten up your under-eyes with Rimmel’s Wake Me Up Concealer, then sculpt your face in three easy steps with Rimmel’s Kate Sculpting Highlighter Palette.

Step 3 – Define Your Eyes

Make sure your eyes turn heads! Use Lord & Berry’s Couture Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil to line the eyes and use the tip of your ring finger to blend and smoke it out. Next, grab the L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Eyeshadow Palette in Nude 01 Beige, either go for a subtle nude if you’re running behind time, or smoke it up with the darker shades if you’re still good for time! Time to bat those lashes. TheBalm’s Cheater Mascara is perfect for defining your eyes, adding volume and dark black colour to your lashes.

Step 4 – Finishing Touches

The final finishing touches – these can be done in a rush on your way out, or when you arrive for pre-drinks, so don’t panic if you’re short on time! Define your brows with Rimmel’s Brow This Way Eyebrow Gel, and add a coat of Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick. Give your hair a boost with Label.M’s Dry Shampoo. Spritz into your roots, leave for a minute then rub into your scalp for added volume. Finally, achieve a professional manicure in seconds with the nails inc. Paint Can Nail Polish. We recommend ‘Good as Gold’, especially if you’ve not decided what you’re wearing yet!

I’ve always loved makeup and being able to work with it every day only makes me love playing around with products even more! Tan is my absolute fave product, you’ll never see me without a tan. Being a beauty buyer means I try out a lot of new products, from makeup and tan to hair and skincare... my skincare routine has more products than I’d like to admit! My go-to cocktail... a Pornstar Martini.
