Here is what Anna had to say:
What was your favourite look of London Fashion Week 2013?
Erdem has to be my favourite, I had the opportunity to work with the amazing James Kaliardos which was a pleasure and I always love the collection by Erdem. It is beautifully feminine and always emotionally provocative.
What key make up did you see featured at LFW?
Paired back skins using only concealer and powder- and devoid of colour unusual for The SS season. Flicked liner, bold candy pastel lips. And boyish, groomed brows with lots of texture.
What is the next big make up trend for A/W13?
I think not wearing blush in the ‘typical’ way on the apples of the cheeks but lower down on the face. Almost in the hollows near each corner of the mouth which gives more of a flushed glow.
Name your favourite thing about working at LFW?
Working with the key makeup designers and learning the inspiration behind the look, gives the makeup more meaning and it comes to life. Then seeing the finished look with the collection is always exciting !
Which is your favourite NARS make up product?
It has to be the Radiant Creamy Concealers. I use these all the time on shoots and clients on their own in place of foundation- the texture is exactly like skin and you can also build them up to give a really amazing coverage without it looking cakey. The ultimate in concealer!
What does NARS have in store for S/S14?
It’s top secret at the moment! But as always with NARS it will be very exciting and provocative!
How would our readers best re-create the looks seen on the catwalk?
Invest in your basics- a great concealer and primer to even out skintone and high colour and use a sheer powder such as NARS Light reflecting Setting powder to give a semi-matte finish to the skin. Then add your colour- a basic black liner to do a small flick and a bold lip. Be experimental go for a peach shade or pink/lilac. NARS Sheer lipstick in Roman Holiday and Velvet Matte Pencil in Bolero are great shades for this.
How long have you worked for NARS?
I have been with NARS for 5 months now- but have over 8 years experience in the industry.
Why do you like working for NARS?
NARS has always been a brand that I have admired as it has always remained true to its brand values. A lot of this has to do with the fact that Francois Nars- the creator still has a massive influence and continues to shoot all of our brand campaigns to this day. He is and always has been a true inspiration for me since I started in makeup. Added to that, the product is amazing- high pigment colours and beautiful, long wearing textures, make it a dream to work with.
Do you have any exciting make up or beauty tips to share?
To create a softer blend with a smoky eye, layer a loose powder between the colour to give a beautiful diffused finish.
Thanks for all the tips Anna, we will be sure to stock up on our NARS prioducts.
