INTO IT: TURMERIC

As we look to Autumn (sorry) and its golden colour palette, it’s only right that this month’s Into It feature focuses on superfood Turmeric. Not just one for your spice cupboard, we’re looking into the health benefits of Turmeric. Things are about to get spicy.

Is Turmeric good for you?

Turmeric has loads of antioxidant purposes. This means it helps to slow down processes caused by free radicals which break down or age the skin. In short: it helps to slow the signs of ageing a lot more effectively than a pizza at the end of a night out.

It’s mainly good for you thanks to the yellow pigment caused by Curcumin. It’s this that holds the antioxidant properties, meaning it’s great in both your food and your beauty products.

Health Benefits of Turmeric

The health benefits of Turmeric include it helping to:

  • Brighten skin
  • Soothe irritation
  • Fight pollution
  • Treat blemishes – it’s anti-bacterial
  • Anti-ageing
  • Anti-inflammatory

It’s a super ingredient that can benefit all aspects of your body, from your skin to your hair and nails.

What’s not to love? You can benefit from all of the above by either adding more of the spice to your dietary intake, or by looking into ways you can add it in topically through your beauty routine. Want a gold (or yellow) star? Do both!

Turmeric Supplement

Of course, a simple way to add the ingredient to your beauty routine is by taking oral Turmeric supplements. Suitable for vegans, the Kiki Health Turmeric Powder is one of our favourites. Simply add a teaspoon to your morning smoothie or juice to start seeing the benefits to your dietary routine.

Turmeric Beauty Products
